Chalet Alex is made up of the top two floors of Chalet Shalimar in Zermatt. This spacious 480m² apartment includes some breathtaking views of the Matterhorn, as well as a generous selection of shared wellness facilities, including a swimming pool, a uniqueness amongst luxury chalets in Zermatt. Six bedrooms are sure to offer a memorable summer stay for up to 12 guests in total.
Chalet Alex benefits from two open-plan living, dining and kitchen spaces. The spacious living areas on the top floor display pure alpine charm throughout, with typical wooden structures and central rustic stone fireplaces. Impressive floor-to-ceiling windows highlight the beautiful surroundings whilst also capturing a perfect view of the iconic Matterhorn peak. Cosy lounges offer lots of seating around a central fireplace and the dining areas, which can seat all 12 guests, are positioned adjacent, providing guests with a wonderful social setting each evening. The fully-equipped kitchens supply guests with all the equipment required for meal preparations throughout the week. Two cosy TV lounges are also included with Chalet Alex, allowing guests to enjoy some relaxing viewing at the end of each day.
Several lovely balconies are attached to the top floor. The expansive decking areas are equipped with outdoor tables, along with some additional outdoor seating. Guests can dine alfresco style or enjoy a few drinks in the sunshine whilst admiring the surrounding summer settings and impressive Matterhorn view.
The six bedrooms within Chalet Alex are all double bedrooms, but can also all be arranged into twin rooms, which adds flexibility when catering for different groups. Simple designs with soft furnishings and bright textures give each bedroom its own unique feel. Balconies and en-suites with each bedroom provides guests with the desired, elevated stay. Stylish glass doors lead you out onto the outdoor space, so you can watch the sunset before going to bed.
For added luxury, Chalet Alex has access to various shared wellness facilities. Undoubtedly, the highlight of the spa facilities is the beautiful indoor swimming pool, where you may be tempted to swim a few calming lengths. Both the sauna and hammam are ideal for relaxing those aching muscles after a tough day scaling the mountains of Zermatt. The massage room also ensures a good pampering for all guests.
For your convenience throughout the week, Chalet Alex has shared access to a boot room and laundry facilities.
Larger groups can be accommodated by combining Chalet Alex with the two four-person apartments of Apartment Elena. Chalet Shalimar accommodates groups of 20 guests, with exclusive use of the spa facilities.
Prices are based on exclusive use of the apartment for up to 12 guests and is offered on a self-catered basis to include daily housekeeping and mid-week towel change.

Chalet Alex is found within the Winkelmatten area of the glamorous resort of Zermatt, featuring spectacular uninterrupted views of the Matterhorn.
The Klein Matterhorn Express gondola station is just 8-minutes walk from the chalet, taking you up the Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and to a variety of hiking trails, as well as to the glacier and connection to Cervinia in Italy. A 5-minute walk up from the bottom gondola station will take you to the Forest Fun Park Zermatt.
Zermatt features a great selection of bars, shops and restaurants to explore, with the main Bahnhofstrasse street running through the centre of resort just a 20-minute walk from the chalet. This can also be reached by an electric taxi, or the electric bus, in less than 5 minutes. The nearest bus stop from Chalet Shalimar is a 2-minute walk away.
