Natural wood and stone interiors gives the chalet an authentic feel, although the design is modern and luxurious. The middle of Chalet Le Whymper's three floors features its open-plan living area. Wide picture windows flood the lounge with light, while lofty ceilings further open this space up. Relax on the plush corner sofa in the lounge, or enjoy meals around a sizeable dining table adjacent. There is additional seating found at a breakfast bar attached to the end of the kitchen. The kitchen is sleek and modern, fully equipped for all your self-catering needs.
Chalet Le Whymper's outdoor areas are generously sized with an abundance of excellent features, ideal for a luxury summer holiday in Châtel. The middle floor benefits from an expansive balcony with alfresco dining and BBQ area. You will also find outdoor lounge furniture, deckchairs and a chairlift-style swing seat. On the lower level, the chalet has a large terrace and garden space. Make the most of the chalet's wonderful wellness facilities, hosting an outdoor hot tub and a stylish barrel sauna. Indulge in relaxation and be treated to magical panoramic views at the same time.
Inside, Chalet Le Whymper treats you to further spaces for leisure and play. There's a comfortable play room with soft carpets, bean bags and an air hockey table. The chalet also includes a TV lounge and a stylish bar area, with a great selection of wines in the wine fridge.
Five bedrooms can accommodate up to 13 guests at Chalet Le Whymper in total. The beds are sumptuous and luxurious, with exposed wooden interiors adding a touch of alpine charm. There is one en-suite double on the main living level, while the remaining bedrooms are found on the lower floor, some providing direct garden access. There are two double bedrooms, one of which has an additional bunk ideal for two extra children, and lastly there's a triple bedroom sleeping three. All bedrooms come with a shower room.
Chalet Le Whymper has a boot room for storage and laundry facilities. There are a total of 6 spaces available for exterior parking.
For larger groups of up to 27 guests, Chalet Le Whymper can be taken with its sister chalet, Chalet Le Spencer, located two doors down from the property.
Prices are based on exclusive use of the chalet for up to 13 guests and is offered on a self-catered basis only.
The chalet is also available on a contactless catered basis with daily breakfast delivery, 6 nights pre-prepared dinners, selected complimentary drinks, and scheduled housekeeping.

Chalet Le Whymper is located in the peaceful Petit Châtel area of the alpine resort of Châtel. Perched in an elevated position, the chalet provides glorious views over the village, valley and mountains.
It takes around 20 minutes walk to get from the chalet to the centre of Châtel, where you will find a good assortment of restaurants, bars and local shops in the charming village centre.
The village centre is also where you will find the Super Châtel gondola, which brings you up the mountain to the border between France and Switzerland. There are some hiking and longer mountain biking routes to be found at the top of this gondola. The trails of Châtel's bike park are accessed via the Pierre-Longue chairlift, which is located 13 minutes drive from the chalet, about a 30-minute cycle away.

When catered, the chalet is offered on what's known as a contactless catered basis. Each morning you will receive a breakfast delivery including pastries and homemade jams. Then, pre-prepared evening meals will be delivered to your chalet on 6 nights of your stay. These will be created off-site in a professional kitchen, using authentic, local ingredients. There are a range of dishes to choose from, allowing you to pre-prepare your menu with what best suits your group's tastes. The meals are delivered right to your door, with simple instructions for heating them up, allowing you the flexibility to eat when you like. The chalet is also stocked with a range of complimentary drinks. For catered stays, there is also regular housekeeping. On request, a private chef can cook for you at the chalet, at an additional cost and subject to availability.
When taken on a self-catered basis, you have the option to add the breakfast and meal delivery services on an ad hoc basis. You can use this service before arrival, or during your stay up to 24 hours in advance, allowing you to enjoy local specialities such as fondue, raclette and Savoyard dishes at your convenience.
The chalets have a concierge service available 24/7, and will endeavour to assist you with whatever request you may have, any time of day. Further specialist services the chalet team can arrange include yoga classes and mountain guides.
