Recent years have seen welcome mountain biking investment in Chatel, with the creation of many new mountain biking trails. The lifts are converted from winter ski lifts, to carry bikes and passengers, so the highs of the mountains are accessible to everyone!
Fantasticable Zip Wire
Situated high above the lifts from Pre-la-Joux, those dare-devil adrenaline seekers can find themselves flying between the mountains at speeds of over 100kph on the Fantasticable Zip Wire – try to enjoy the incredible views if you dare open your eyes!
Tree Tops Adventure Park
This acrobatic adventure park is one of the many family summer activities in Chatel. Why not have a go at climbing through the treetops, breathe in the fresh mountain air and enjoy the spectacular views of the valley at this fun adventure park in Super-Chatel.
Watersports

Hiking and Walking
Whatever your ability or appetite for a challenge, there are plenty of mountain hiking and walking trails in Chatel. You could choose a more leisurely walk up to the cheese farm, or tackle a full days hike up to the top of the mountains and watch the stunning sunset.
White Water Rafting
Down the valley on the River Dranse, you can travel along the rapids and through the gorges on various levels of adrenaline pumping tours! Incase white water rafting is not your thing, you can try hydrospeeding, airboating or canorafting.
Fishing
There are plenty of fishing spots in and around Chatel and the Abondance Valley. From the family-friendly Lac de Vonnes, to one of the best homes of trout in the area, the River Dranse, you can enjoy a leisurely afternoon of fishing in the warm sunshine.
Via Ferrata
The Abondance Valley also offers fantastic rock faces perfect for Via Ferrata! If you have limited mountaineering experience but want to make the most of the mountain peaks and superb views, Via Ferrata is the perfect summer activity to try in Chatel. Equipment hire and instruction are all readily available, so you can just turn up and have fun!
Les Gorges du Pont du Diable
Experience this natural wonder close up! Steps lead you down into the gorge where you can see how erosion has sculpted the marble over thousands of years. This really is a once in a lifetime trip and an absolute must whilst on your summer holiday in the Alps.
Chateau de Chillon
On the shores of Lake Geneva lies the medieval fortress, Chateau de Chillon. Here you can learn the history of this ancient castle spanning several centuries and take in some culture during your visit to the Alps.
