At the start of the summer season, Andy and I headed out to Megeve to source some luxury chalets for our Alps In Luxury portfolio. Alps In Luxury is a website dedicated to finding you the perfect luxury summer chalet for your holiday to the Alps, outside of the ski season. Below you’ll find a small selection of the latest luxury summer chalets in Megeve that we have handpicked and added to our ever expanding portfolio.
Chalet Infinity, Le Jaillet
Chalet Infinity is located in the Jaillet quarter of Megeve and is only a few minutes drive away from the centre of Megeve. The chalet has 5 bedrooms and can easily accommodate 11 guests. There are two master rooms, two further doubles and a children’s bunk room that sleeps 3.
Our favourite parts about the chalet were the unique pivoting front door, the cinema room and of course the depth adjustable swimming pool. The outside space is really nice too, it has a large terrace off the living area with views across the alpine meadows – during our visit we even saw a calf being born! A trampoline is also in place for the summer months. Chalet Infinity is a great choice if you are seeking a luxury summer chalet in Megeve.
Chalet Amanda, Rochebrune
Another one of the chalets we visited was Chalet Amanda, a recently completed, modern luxury summer chalet in Megeve. The chalet is up in the Rochebrune area of Megeve and has good access to the centre for the shoppers and foodies, and equally good access to the lifts for keen mountain bikers. Chalet Amanda is a great family chalet, sleeping 12 guests in 5 rooms. 2 of the rooms are family suites that have a large king size bed for the parents and an adjoining twin room for the kids, sharing a bathroom.
From the living room you have great views across to the Jaillet area of Megeve and the sun soaked balcony makes the very most of this. Chalet Amanda also has a great spa area to relax in after a day exploring Megeve. The spa features a heated indoor pool with counter current, large hammam steam room, sauna and even a gym if you still feel the urge to work out.
Chalet Moderna, Centre
Just a couple of minutes’ walk from the centre of Megeve you will find Chalet Moderna. As you may of thought the clue is in the name, this is a modern luxury chalet in Megeve. The chalet was completed in time for the 2017 season and comes equipped with plenty of luxury toys. The chalet can welcome 12 guests across 6 en-suite bedrooms, the master is particularly impressive in size and has a huge bathroom, the bath and shower are both very substantial.
The main feature of Chalet Moderna is the swimming pool, it is heated to around 28°C, is 8 x 6 metres and 1.5 metres at its deepest point. Other great aspects of the chalet are the funky pool table (full size), heated outdoor terrace (hopefully not required over the summer!), and the TV room. The room is off the lounge and has a sliding door so kids can be watching a film while the parents are relaxing in the sitting area.
Chalet Lamartine, Centre
Chalet Lamartine is a super centrally located luxury summer chalet in Megeve and has only just become available on the rental marked following its completion mid February this year. Similar to Chalet Moderna, Lamartine is also a modern looking chalet with clever touches and innovative features, such as the glass staircase and landing area. Lamartine is a 6 bedroom property with each room being en-suite.
For the summer months the chalet has a large outdoor swimming which has a retractable cover. Where better to have a swim than in your own private chalet? There is an outdoor hot tub too for those who prefer to relax in the bubbles. The chalet also has a large cinema room, which can easily fit 10 guests, ideal to watch the latest blockbuster or Netflix series.
Chalet Deer, Centre
Chalet Deer boasts arguably the best location for any luxury chalet in the centre of Megeve. You are right in the heart of the pedestrian zone surrounded by restaurants, cafés and shopping boutiques. A recent refurbishment means that the chalet now has 7 bedrooms. 6 of which are doubles and there is one children’s’ bunk room that sleeps 4. The master bedroom is enormous and one of the most luxurious around in any luxury chalet.
What stands out in Chalet Deer is the standard of the finish and the sheer luxuriousness of the property. Every aspect has been thought out to make the most out of the space. From the outside you wouldn’t even notice it, but from the inside you are in a whole different world. Very much like a Tardis. Chalet Deer is the standard for any of the luxury chalets in Megeve.
Fermes à La Leonthine, Praz sur Arly
One of the most beautiful luxury summer chalets has to be Les Fermes à La Leonthine. The recently converted farmhouse just outside of Megeve, sitting high above the town of Praz sur Arly, has everything one could desire in a luxury summer chalet. The chalet features a state of the art spa area, cinema room and arguably one of the best living spaces in any private chalet out there, click the photo to see more!
The most unique aspect of the chalet is its location. Once you head out of Praz sur Arly you take a small winding road up towards the chalet, and quickly you are only surrounded by the odd cow field and few farms. The chalet is set back from the road and has a long drive which is surrounded by extensive gardens and stunning views.
